Best friend, soul mate, all in one

Did you know I was hurting when she passed and left me?
So hard to share then
Everything numb  Caught up in the waves

Drowning in the chaos
Fighting for each breath
Wanting you not knowing how to explain

Heart breaking
Tears cascading down
Space and others seem to comfort
While wondering where were you?

Healing through poems
Beautiful threads sewn inspiration
On Quilted Wings I let her go
Butterflies and sunshine I've grown

In my dreams and the bond between
She's shown me to reach out
Fight for what makes me happy
Fight for you

Never meant to hurt you
Wasn't aware I had until recently
Waves of sorrow rushing in
Seeking your forgiveness & love

Others comfort no longer satisfies 

Only yours alone and Him will do 

Sparkling eyes, smiles and laughter 

Loving embrace- feeling of being home

Helping me show you
How to be there
As He wants you to be
The man He chose you to be

First as friend
Then as more
First in person
Then through an imaginary door

Imagery lines and gifts
Followed by the link between
Souls touched by love
A kind harder to explain

Trust and love through Him
Followed by for each other
Not to be unbroken
Only to be restored

Grounded you showed me
Your hand in mine
Stepping out beyond the tunnel
Pleasantly divine

Together or apart doesn't matter
Waking upon your presence of you there in thought
Wishing you were there in person
In time you might

Uncertainty still you have
Try to set it down by the door
As He keeps bringing us together
For more

He brings me back to you each time Guiding my steps upon the path
Showing me how to be there for you
And you to be there for me too

Your speed and fluidnesss
Beautifully blurred
Chasing the object
Of your affection
Besides me

Pausing briefly
Only to roll around
On a blanket of green
Tongue and tail wagging
Reaching skyward playfully

Neither in front or behind
Always by my side
All hours day or night
Itty bitty bundle of fluffy joy
Full grown and loved divine

Always on duty & to greet me
Tug -o - war
Scratch your tummy
Ready for any adventure
Black beauty

Drowning in daily chaos
You walked in
Wiping away the pain
As it crept up and out

Wave after wave
Gasping for life
Listening to the story
Holding Me close

Reassurance
Turning to laughter
Faith and forgiveness
Of a different kind

You sparked the flame
Reigniting a fire of hope
Eyes sparkling of compassion
Reflecting back what'd been received

Bits of silver and gold
Woven with red and purple
Love bound with honor earned
In my heart you'll forever be
